Backstage Takoma

I hosted and co-produced "Backstage Takoma," a Takoma Park City TV series. In this casual, talk-show style program, I interviewed the lecturers, performers, filmmakers, and visual artists booked in the City of Takoma Park's "We are Takoma" art event series. Some highlights from my time as host include watching a live shibari bondage performance, visiting artist studios, and interviewing "Heavy Metal Parking Lot" filmmaker Jeff Krulik. The show airs monthly on Maryland's channel 13.

WMUC Interviews Paul DeLisle

During my four years as a radio DJ for WMUC FM 88.1, the University of Maryland's freeform radio station, the DJs had an irreverent infatuation with Smash Mouth's 1999 hit "All Star." Dan Singer, the DJ who catalyzed the fad, organized a day for the station to only play "All Star" on both its FM and digital platforms. There was one break from this song in the 24-hour-long "All Star Day" -- when Dan and I interviewed Smash Mouth bassist Paul DeLisle on the air.

TKPK Art About

I contributed to the City of Takoma Park, Maryland's public art archive by editing the city's interviews with residents into short audio features on their works of public art. My favorite story is about an old sign from Glen Echo Park that one resident made into a bench. As with most things in Takoma Park, the stories these residents tell are as whimsical as their art.
